So what does Alex do for work?
Alex works as a Land Surveyor, locating property lines, researching deeds, staking out small lots, measuring topography, locating wetlands, and producing site plans for a small family owned business.
He works with civil engineers, real-estate attorneys, small builders, and homeowners all over Delaware as well as in Pennsylvania and Maryland.
Career
I am a Certified Survey Technican IV awarded by the National Society of Professional Surveyors.
As a Project Manager working for a small family owned business I was able to develop skills that are similar to those needed in public office.
Some skills and areas of expertise that I cultivated throughout my career include budgeting and financial responsibility, research methods, communication and cooperation, critical thinking and decision-making, government processes, and long-term planning habits.
Working for a small family owned business and working with other small and medium sized firms I was able to realize the needs of everyday people in the community and how employment relates to the daily lives of individuals.
Education
Red Clay Consolidated School District K through 12th Grade.
Began at West Virginia University as a Strategic Communications Major in the School of Journalism.
Later switched to General Business and will graduate with Honors from West Virginia University with a BS in Business Administration from the College of Business and Economics this Summer.
Maintain continuing education credits for professional career as a surveyor.
